Bleed Attack
Bleed Attack is a gem effect in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. It grants a percentage chance that the user's auto-attack will inflict bleed for 10 seconds, dealing extra damage every 2 seconds (for a total of 5 extra hits). Unlike the debuff's normal effect, the damage done is equal to the gem's value, rather than based on the initial damage dealt.
Overview[edit]
Bleed Attack is just an extra source of damage; it can be placed on anyone who wants to deal more damage without having to worry about extra aggro (as it's a debuff). Compared to Blaze Attack, Bleed Attack gems are individually stronger, but the total cap is significantly lower.
In the original version, Bleed Attack works against Mechon armour, dealing its full damage. In the Definitive Edition, it does not trigger at all.

Crystals and cylinders[edit]
Enemy drops[edit]
The strength of crystals and cylinders dropped by enemies is random within limits. The first attribute is usually from 20% to 30%, but crystals from bosses and unique monsters are stronger, and are from 80% to 90% instead. There is also a 25% chance to get a better crystal, which ranges from 32% to 40% normally, or 92% to 99% for bosses and uniques. If there is a second attribute, its possible range is equal to half the range of the first attribute (for example, if the first attribute's range is 20%-30%, the second's will be 10%-15%).

Ether deposits and gears[edit]
The strength of crystals and cylinders mined from deposits is random within limits. Each attribute is usually from 40% to 45%, but crystals from high-quality deposits are stronger, and are from 80% to 90% instead. There is also a 10% chance to get a better crystal, which ranges from 52% to 60% normally, or 92% to 99% for high-quality deposits.
