Blaze Defence is a gem effect in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. It reduces the amount of damage taken from the Blaze debuff.

Overview

Blaze Defence is situational to when the current enemies are known to have blaze attacks, so it's not the sort of thing to have on at all times. When facing such foes however, it does quite a good job at cutting damage taken for when the effect inevitably triggers.

Crystals and cylinders

Enemy drops

The strength of crystals and cylinders dropped by enemies is random within limits. The first attribute is usually from 20% to 30%, but crystals from bosses and unique monsters are stronger, and are from 80% to 90% instead. There is also a 25% chance to get a better crystal, which ranges from 32% to 40% normally, or 92% to 99% for bosses and uniques. If there is a second attribute, its possible range is equal to half the range of the first attribute (for example, if the first attribute's range is 20%-30%, the second's will be 10%-15%).
