Heat Sink is a gem effect in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected. It reduces the amount of talent gauge Sharla or Kino gains. If equipped to another character, it has no effect.

Overview[edit]

As Sharla and Kino are the only characters that don't necessarily want high talent gauge, they get their own version of Talent Boost. Heat Sink allows them to go longer without having to cool off, and use more healing arts at higher effectiveness, while also making it more difficult to get to high heat for high damage.

Crystals and cylinders[edit]

Enemy drops[edit]

The strength of crystals and cylinders dropped by enemies is random within limits. The first attribute is usually from 20% to 30%, but crystals from bosses and unique monsters are stronger, and are from 80% to 90% instead. There is also a 25% chance to get a better crystal, which ranges from 32% to 40% normally, or 92% to 99% for bosses and uniques. If there is a second attribute, its possible range is equal to half the range of the first attribute (for example, if the first attribute's range is 20%-30%, the second's will be 10%-15%).

Ether deposits and gears[edit]

The strength of crystals and cylinders mined from deposits is random within limits. Each attribute is usually from 40% to 45%, but crystals from high-quality deposits are stronger, and are from 80% to 90% instead. There is also a 10% chance to get a better crystal, which ranges from 52% to 60% normally, or 92% to 99% for high-quality deposits.
