Rage (レイジ, Rage) is one of Reyn's aura Battle Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles. It has several effects: it reduces his physical damage given and received, it gradually fills his talent gauge, and it provides a counter spike effect.

Overview

Rage's varied effects give it several simultaneous uses:

• It reduces the damage Reyn takes. This is always useful, as losing aggro from taking damage is among Reyn's least favourite things to do.
• It builds talent gauge (a total of 24% when unlevelled) without needing to deal damage. This is ideal for times when Reyn is discouraged or underlevelled and so can't get any hits in.
• It lowers Reyn's physical damage, but lets him deal out counter spike damage instead. In a sense, this moves his damage output from "successfully hit enemies with physical attacks" to "get hit by anything", which as long as he has the aggro will always be more likely an event.

Combined, Rage is Reyn's answer to situations where he has trouble contributing to a fight because he can't land any physical attacks.

• Reyn gains talent gauge per second equal to floor(((art level - 1) * 0.2) + 2). In other words, 2% when unlevelled and +1% every 5 levels.
• Reyn gains a damage counter spike. The damage dealt is equal to 2x his ether stat.
