stub Aegaeon Aegaeon (ワダツミ) a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. He is Hugo's and later Niall's Blade and considered an imperial treasure of Mor Ardain. ==Appearance and personality== Aegaeon is a male Blade who wields a Chroma Katana. He appears similar to a Common Blade, but with a much more intricate design. His most distinctive feature is what appears to be tubing that contains water ether, which runs along the entirety of his body, coming out of the back of his head in three gold-capped tassels. Aegaeon has a serene disposition, never outwardly displaying any strong emotion. However, he does have moments where his personality shows, such as when he comments on Haze's or Lora's beauty, his penchant for philosophy when talking with Arb, or when he asks Mythra why she puts so much stock in external displays of power. ==Story arc== ===Xenoblade Chronicles 2=== incomplete ===Torna ~ The Golden Country=== Aegaeon is first seen alongside Hugo when they stop the battle between Brighid and Addam, Mythra, Lora and Jin. Hugo presents Aegaeon and Brighid as the Crown Jewels of the Ardainian forces, the two Blades are assigned to the current emperor and the brother, but like Hugo's brother wasn't unable to be a Driver, Hugo was assigned with both Aegaeon and Brighid. After talking a while talking in the ruins of Torigoth Village Aegaeon offers of discussing their next path forward in the Ardainian flagship instead. When the party is discussing in the Strategy Room, some strange noises come from outside, so Aegaeon decides to go to take a look. When he's back, he says that a group of routed mercenaries are trying to avoid any attention and are heading to the Torigoth Cemetery, right where Lora and Haze are. Insantly, Jin leaves the room running as fast as he can and the party follows him. The party manage to arrive in time just before Gort was about to fight Lora. After Jin cuts Gort's arms, Hugo reports that Addam's militia was taken over by Uraya, and Aegaeon confirms the militia to be traveling to the Kingdom of Torna. Addam then asked Aegaeon to communicate to his militia to travel and meet him in Aletta. When they arrive to Aletta, Addam is well welcomed by the inhabitants, to which Aegaeon says that although he's fourth in line to the throne, he is incredibly popular. When the party departs to The Soaring Rostrum after doing all the preparations in Auresco, Aegaeon fought Malos alongside Hugo and company, but when Mythra defeats Malos and so the Tornan Titan gets destroyed, Hugo shields Addam from the explosion, dying in the process and, consequently, Aegaeon and Brighid returning to their corresponding Core Crystals. Right after that, an Ardainian flagship picks up the party, in there, Lora gives Aegaeon and Brighid's Core Crystals to the Special Inquisitor. Aegaeon and Brighid will be assigned to the next Mor Ardain emperor. ==Lore== * Alongside Brighid, Aegaeon is passed down from generation to generation of the Ardainian royal family. * At first, Aegaeon, alongside Brighid, was meant to be the Blade of Hugo's brother. However, due to his brother's lack of potential, Hugo was the one to awaken both Blades, becoming the Emperor. * After Hugo's death, Aegaeon has been passing from generation to generation, arriving finally to Niall. *According to Ranhald, due to Aegaeon's disappearance from Niall's side, rumors have started to spread around Mor Ardain that he was sent to assassinate Queen Raqura or even sent to marry her as a sign of goodwill. *Aegaeon and Arb became fast friends due to their shared love for philosophy. ==As a party member== ===Xenoblade Chronicles 2=== Aegaeon/Gameplay (XC2) ===Torna ~ The Golden Country=== Aegaeon/Gameplay (TTGC) ==As an NPC== ===Xenoblade Chronicles 2=== Aegaeon can be found at a random location in Garfont Village after Rex takes over the Merc Group, provided he is not equipped to his Driver or sent on a Merc Mission.
