Zenobia (ヤエギリ) is a Rare Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. She can be obtained randomly from Core Crystals.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Zenobia, as befitting her Wind element, resembles the japanese wind god Fūjin, most notably with her big scarf. She has big fluffy white hair with two blue antennae. On her shoulders, some small green wings are sprouting. She also has a big golden artefact floating behind her, though it's not sure what it is exactly. Apart from that, she's very lightly clothed, with white heels and tights, as well as a dress that floats in the wind and covers her calves. Her core crystal resembles a feather.

As for her personality, Zenobia is "always striving to be the very best, like no Blade was before her". She has an obsession with strength and always wants to fight stronger and stronger opponents, but she still refers to herself as "in training", implying she's not chasing strong opponents to test herself, but rather to train and achieve Aegis level strength by herself.

Story arc[edit]

After her awakening, Zenobia gets sent on mercenary missions to try to find and fight strong monsters on various Titans. After searching Mor Ardain in Zenobia's Enemy 4, she gets frustrated that the monsters aren't strong enough and comes complaining to the party. That's the start of her Blade Quest, A Real Challenge. The quest makes the party gather information on a legendary monster from eons ago, and the length the old heroes went to to seal it. The party proceeds to unseal it just so Zenobia finally gets that awesome opponent she yearns for. It actually pays off because, when fighting Thanatobeast Andraz, she gets to be serious before defeating it, leaving her satisfied... for about five seconds. She enjoyed the experience of fighting together with the party, but what she really wants is to fight a monster such as Andraz by herself, with her ultimate goal being to fight Mythra. But she acknowledges that she's not quite there yet, so she has to keep training.

Lore[edit]

  • Zenobia says that if she were alive during the Aegis War, she wouldn't have helped defeat Malos, but instead would've tried to fight Mythra, the strongest Blade around.

Zenobia
I feel a bit...under-stimulated.
My skills are going to decline if I sit around here forever. Aren't there any strong enemies for me to fight?!
