The Xenosaga Information Device, or X.I.D. for short, was a program distributed at the Xenosaga website around one month before the North American release of Xenosaga Episode I. It was used to distrubute news and exclusive media like artwork, screenshots from the game, short previews from the soundtrack and even a countdown to the Xenosaga's release.[1][2]
While it can still be installed and executed on modern iterations of Windows, the servers it tries to connect to have long been discontinued. As of July 2009, it was still available for download.[3]
