Deletion of pre-release images

I've realised we have no standard for whether a pre-release image with no exact post-release equivalent should be kept or not. I'm mostly thinking about promotional art that we never get a post-release version of, such as how some XC3/FR characters got images with their Japanese name+class in them. Should we keep images that have no value other than "historical significance"? STM (t) 11:08, 24 November 2023 (EST)

I think whether or not we keep an image should be based upon how likely it is that someone will be trying to find exactly that image in future; that is, if it is or isn't truly redundant. In this case, there are definitely situations where people would want to (and have wanted to) find the XC3/FR character name+class images, so I believe it makes sense to keep them. I am also on board in preserving pre-release images. After seeing the pre-release screenshots in the XC3 character articles, there's little reason to delete them.--Dragon146 (talk) 12:09, 24 November 2023 (EST)
