Xeno Series Wiki:Users

Users are just that, users of this wiki. They're people who have made an account so they can have their edits assigned to them by name rather than by IP address, which is convenient for everyone in many ways.

Compared to IPs, users gain the ability to mark edits as "minor" and move pages. They also have access to a range of preferences, such as showing hidden categories or enabling dark mode, and may write their own custom CSS and JS (skins and scripts) for additional personalization. But most importantly, they are no longer identified by only their IP address - this is good because IPs can change over time, and being able to discuss wiki matters with a name and not just a number is important. While it isn't mandatory for editors to create an account, it is strongly recommended for these and other reasons.
