The Beginning and the End is Disc 2, Track 18 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack, Track 44 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-, and Track 4 of the B-Side of the first disc of Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -.

The track was remixed for the Revival disc as The Beginning and the End (Revival Version), which was also performed at the Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert -The Beginning and the End-.

It plays as the music in the ending cutscene, when Krelian tells Fei and Elly that he is going to walk with God.

The lyrics were written by Tetsuya Takahashi and translated into Bulgarian by Milcho Spassov. The piece was sung by THE GREAT VOICES OF BULGARIA. Romanisation was done unofficially by itsthewhiteowl. The original lyrics are as follows:

The following is a Romanised version of the lyrics:

Dvama sami sa v noshnia mrag,
svetla sila im dava nadejda
Krachat bez put, bez posoka i celta,
nebeto nadejno poglejdat

Migat i to, zad gora vidjat
luch svetlina,
dve surtsta zatoplyat shtedar
Idvat oblatsi ........

Slava ........

A translation of the lyrics into English, as provided in the booklet of the Revival disc, is as follows:

They are alone in the oppressing dark, but
Luminous power is granting their hope.
They are walking without a path and
Destination, looking for a way to the heavens.

In a moment they will see beyond the woods
They see Behind the wood
A beam of light.
Two hearts are warmed by the generous day
Free clouds are flying ........

Glory .......

Album notes[edit]

Album notes written by Yasunori Mitsuda. No official translation exists.
