Talk:Miyabi
Nomination for featured status[edit]
Miyabi's article in its current form is — as far as I'm aware — complete and detailed with respect to story, and has very good image coverage. Far as I'm concerned it's a very good model for what the average character page should look like.
As for whether it should be main-page featured or not, while it's not inherently a spoiler and the first computer screen's worth of text is pretty spoiler-free, it does quite suddenly hit you with 'Miyabi actually survived' when that does come up. That said, it's a good few paragraphs into the story section already. I'm a little undecided wrt whether or not it should be public or hidden in that regard. - I agree that the article is mostly complete, and I also have concerns about spoilers if we were to show it on the main page. Even without reading it should set off some red flags when it's about a character that's believed to be dead thgt has that much lore across multiple side quests. For that reason I'd lean towards making it a hidden featured article. Reggimato (talk) 18:42, 18 January 2023 (EST)
- I'm...not convinced, but there's nothing I can point to about exactly why. There's nothing wrong with it and it would do fine as the first hidden FA. STM (t) 22:50, 18 January 2023 (EST)
- I'm okay with it being a hidden feature article --Dragon146 (talk) 06:21, 19 January 2023 (EST)

Did Miyabi survive or was reborn?[edit]
Has it ever been explicitly stated in the game that Miyabi survived the accident? Or she was killed but later revived like Cammuarvi, Hackt, and Mwamba? I do think the former is more likely because she still has her memories with Mio, but then Mio also said it's ironic that it was because of the Colony Omega flame clock that brought Miyabi and others, and then in later side quest Mio pointed out it is unsure why Miyabi was the only one to have her old memories, as if she was revived like other soldiers from Colony omega. --Monado mario (talk) 00:53, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- Mio explicitly said she survived. If she was reborn she wouldn't even remember Mio, and Sena after being freed from Y's control. Saying she was reborn like the others is considered speculation. --Dragon146 (talk) 06:10, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- It seems that whether Miyabi survived or get revived has been somewhat vague, Mio only confirmed Miyabi is "still alive" base on M's memories which can be interpret it in either way. And while you are right it wouldn't explain why Miyabi still has her memories with mio and sena if she was reborn, but as we have seen with many reborn characters, some parts of their memories could still triggered if it's strong enough. And a minor correction, in the side quest "A Chance Encounter", Sena will ask why Mwamba's memories didn't came back like Miyabi. If Miyabi did survive and not reborn why would she ask that question? While the article on Miyabi whether survived or not doesn't need to change just yet, however I personally prefer it as making it vague in the description. --Monado mario (talk) 07:23, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- But you did raise a valid point, Y mentions he awakened Miyabi in a cutscene, but he wasn't explicit that she was reborn though, not to mention she's 9th term according to her affinity chart, while the reborn Mwamba, Hackt, and Cammuravi were artificially aged to their 10th term. If she was reborn, she would've been artificially aged to 10th term --Dragon146 (talk) 08:46, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- Yeah, so while not necessary, I wish with Miyabi's story arc whether being revived or reborn should remain vague. And while you are probably right, that's kind of another question, even though yes Y did say he revive the soldiers close to homecoming, but is that really the case? We know Mwamba was already in his final term, not sure about Hackt, as for Cammuravi during his prisonment it's safe to assume he was in his final 10th term too. Same goes for Ethel, she was already in 10th term before her death and reborn, and after the maturation she's back to 10th term.--Monado mario (talk) 08:56, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- My mistake Hackt is reborn in his 9th term, but I think the safe bet is to say Miyabi survived, but its up to you.
- Actually, might as well add the fact that she was reborn like the others. --Dragon146 (talk) 15:07, 15 March 2023 (EDT)
- 9th or 10th all count as final term I think, so I think you are still right on them bringing back to final term. And after some consideration actually, the possibility of miyabi still alive is plausible, because wasn't Colony Omega accident 5 years ago? If miyabi got reborn, and brought back to her last term before death, shouldn't she be in her original term 5 years ago? So the omega cradle description should still be said as bringing soldiers back to their final term rather than the term prior to their death. But it is up to you too. --Monado mario (talk) 20:26, 15 March 2023 (EDT)

Miyabi in Chinese[edit]
I think "美雅" is not a misspelling of "雅美", but half transliteration and half paraphrase for 雅/Miyabi.
"美雅" is read as Meiya in Chinese; it sounds like Miyabi. Further more, the Chinese language prefers disyllable words ("美雅", Meiya) over monosyllabic words ("雅", Ya), and "雅" is somehow odd for a full name in Chinese. --223.117.153.251 05:56, 30 April 2023 (EDT)
- I'm a Chinese speaker myself, but funnily enough, there's some mistakenly use 雅美 rather than 美雅, I do find it kind of odd they don't just go with 雅美 though. --Monado mario (talk) 06:31, 30 April 2023 (EDT)
