Appearance and personality[edit]
Playne has brown hair with an undercut and brown eyes. He wears a Lost Numbers outfit. When outside the City, he wears an eyepatch bearing the pattern of House Ortiz over his left eye.
Playne is a pragmatic man, influenced by the family of engineers he comes from to judge things based on their usefulness and avoid being prejudiced.
Story arc[edit]
A Young Noble's Request[edit]
Playne is on a campaign to Cape Arcaphor with a squad of scavenging Lost Numbers when they are attacked by Agnian soldiers. They are saved by soldiers from Colony 15, who believed they were Kevesi. They are soon also found by Triton and the party, who have been sent by Playne's son, Shiner, to help him. Despite being grateful for Colony 15's help, Playne decides to bring them into custody in the City, arguing he can't let them leave after seeing the Lost Numbers' faces. The Kevesi don't oppose resistance and are brought to the City, where their "custody" turns out to be quite relaxed, so long as they don't make trouble.
