Our Wounded Bodies Shall Advance Towards the Light (called We Wounded Follow the Light on the Revival disc, the in-game jukebox in Shevat and Snowfield Hideout, and Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -, sometimes unofficially referred to as The Wounded Shall Advance into the Light) is Disc 1, Track 22 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack, track 23 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-, and Track 1 of the B-Side of the first disc of Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -. The track is one of the tracks playable in the Nortune jukebox, under the option 'Requiem'.
The track was remixed for CREID (the album) as CREID (the song). A vocal remix of the track, We, the Wounded Shall Advance into the Light (Revival Version), was made for the Revival disc, and was also performed at the Xenogears 20th Anniversary Concert -The Beginning and the End- and is the 10th track on the associated Blu-Ray disc. Finally, A Prayer for the Joy Man Desires is a remix of this track for organ.
It plays as the area music in the Nisan Cathedral, sung in-universe by the nuns (it stops when the nuns welcome Margie back, and restarts when she tells them to finish their song). It also plays in the following cutscenes:
- Elly is saved by Grahf after her gear stops working when redirecting the Hecht.
- Maria allows the party to enter Shevat.
- Zephyr speaks with the party for the first time in Shevat.
- A peace treaty is signed between Kislev and Aveh after the defeat of the Solaris Mobile Weapon.
- Weltall-Id emerges from its cocoon as the Zohar emerges from the ground in the Land of Bethlehem.
