The Land of Morytha is an area in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is a ruined city of a civilization from long ago underneath the Cloud Sea, and is the talk of legends throughout Alrest, called "the land of the dead" by its inhabitants. It was said to exist before Alrest did, and is supposedly the Architect's birthplace.
Story[edit]
Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]
The Land of Morytha is located below the Cliffs of Morytha, a decaying Titan on the Cloud Sea. Morytha takes the appearance of a decaying modern-day city, with Guldos, undying monsters, stalking its landscape. As Rex, Mythra and Jin explore Morytha, they encounter a larger Guldo. From this Guldo's body, Rex discovers an identification card, hinting that they were once human. The Architect later reveals that these monsters are indeed humans from his world that were implanted with the technology that led to the creation of Core Crystals, which provoked their mutation into Guldos. This area is directly below the World Tree, revealing that the Land of Morytha is the original world below the World Tree before Klaus triggered the Conduit.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3[edit]
Morytha comprise one half of Maktha Wildwood alongside Makna Forest. Nia later tells the tales of Morytha's origins to the party there.
Future Redeemed[edit]
Morytha makes a brief appearance in Future Redeemed while the party is aboard The Ark, during A's narration of human nature. A shows Na'el the Land of Morytha as the result of humanity's faults.
