Drops[edit]
Whenever the player salvages, the items and enemies Rex can potentially pull up are given in a Salvage Table, uniquely determined by the salvage point and cylinder used.
Each Salvage Table has a corresponding treasure trove and enemy base rate. These are used to calculate the number of treasure troves and whether one or more enemies are pulled up. Both of these are affected by Salvaging Mastery and the success of the button challenges. A maximum of three treasure troves can be pulled. The probability for chest t ∈ {1, 2, 3} to be pulled is given by:
probability of chest t spawning = 5% * SalvagingMasteryLevel + (TreasureBaseRate + 10% * goodButtonChallengeCount + 20% * perfectButtonChallengeCount) * (0.25)^(t-1)
where SalvagingMasteryLevel is the cumulative number of levels of Salvaging Mastery across all Blades currently equipped to Drivers, TreasureBaseRate is given by the Salvage Table (usually 20% for Normal Cylinders, 40% for Silver Cylinders, 60% for Golden Cylinders, and 100% for Premium Cylinders), goodButtonChallengeCount is the number of button challenges completed successfully but not perfectly (0 if the last challenge was failed), and perfectButtonChallengeCount is the number of button challenges completed perfectly (0 if the last challenge was failed).
In layman's terms: With no Salvaging Mastery, the chance of the first chest spawning is given by the base rate plus the button challenges, and the chances of the second and third chests are 1/4 and 1/16 that of the first respectively. However, Salvaging Mastery adds a flat 5% per level to the chance of each chest spawning. In particular, at 20 levels of Salvaging Mastery, each of the three chests will always have at least a 100% chance of spawning, meaning that all three are guaranteed.
The number of enemies pulled up is calculated similarly, although the maximum is set in the Salvage Table rather than always being 3, successful button challenges subtract 3% or 6%, the probability of an enemy spawning is 1/2 that of the one before rather than 1/4, and Salvaging Mastery subtracts a flat 2% per level. The theoretical maximum of 36 Salvaging Mastery levels with three perfect button challenges is not enough to fully eliminate the possibility of enemies spawning, but it brings a 100% base rate down to 10%, and 25 Salvaging Mastery levels will always make only 0 or 1 enemies spawn.
The number of sets of loose collectible items is also calculated similarly to the treasure trove number; the equivalent BaseRate is 100%, the decay rate is 0.3 instead of 0.25, and the maximum number is three.
In addition to the treasure trove and enemy base rates, the Salvage Table has three corresponding loose item sets, three treasure item sets, and three enemy sets, each with a specific probability. The game randomly chooses from among these three for each loose item set, treasure trove, and enemy pulled up, according to the corresponding probabilities.
Each loose item set and treasure item set has a corresponding range of gold (zero for loose item sets), a selection of guaranteed items, and a number of random items with their own probabilities. Each enemy set likewise has up to four enemies with corresponding probabilities; one specific enemy from the set will be pulled up.
