Appearances Xenogears

Sir Lawrence Maison, referred to as Maison is a character from Xenogears. He is a colleague and mentor for Bart.

Appearance and Personality[edit]

Maison is an elderly gentlemen with glasses and shoulder length white hair which he typically wears in a low ponytail.

Maison has a refined etiquette and is gentle in nature. He greatly respects Bart and raises him with the hope that he will one day take his rightful role as the King of Aveh. Despite this he is at times caught off guard by Bart's chaotic aggressiveness when running the Yggdrasil.

Story arc[edit]

Maison was originally a member of the Knights Protectors, nobles who served under Bart's father, Edbart IV. He was involved in rescuing Bart and Margie from their imprisonment and afterwards served Bart aboard the Yggdrasil. He is in charge of Bart's education and etiquette. He also acts as a bar tender aboard the Yggdrasil and within Bart's Hideout. He can often be found with Sigurd.

Maison first appears when Bart launches an attack on an Aveh transport. He warns Bart not to fire, but Bart ignores him and does it anyway. He meets Citan shortly afterwards and later meets Fei after he escapes from the Stalactite Cave with Bart. Maison spends a lot of time with Citan and Fei, informing them of the Sand Pirate's history and their attempts to take back Aveh. While not significantly involved in the plot, he is a constant presence throughout any scenes involving Bart and the retaking of Aveh and can be found at any time on the Yggdrasil. In one moment of heroism he saves Bart and the others from Shakhan in Bledavik using one of Citan's old Land Crab Gear.
