This article is about the enemies. For the music track, see Fogbeasts.
The first Fogbeast the party encounters in Future Connected.

The Fogbeasts are enemies in Future Connected and Future Redeemed.

Appearance and properties[edit]

In Future Connected, Fogbeasts are the Bionis's wildlife overtaken by black shadows. These enemies become more aggressive than normal, even docile species, such as Armus can turn aggressive. The Fogbeasts are connected to the rift above Alcamoth and the Fog King.

Fogbeasts in Future Redeemed are drastically different. They now take the appearance of phantom versions of Aionios's wildlife, similar to the Fog King. There are also Fog Rifts that spawns Fog-called Beasts. These Fogbeasts are connected to Alpha.

Story arc[edit]

Future Connected[edit]

The party first encounters the Fogbeasts while investigating Alcamoth looking for the Fog King when they see a huge rift. They come across Teelan being attacked by a Snowal Taos, covered in shadows, and defeats it, thinking it was the Fog King. However, the real Fog King emerged and attacks the party, forcing them to retreat.

Originally the Fogbeasts were confined to Alcamoth. However, as the rift gradually becomes larger, its influence eventually transforms many of the Bionis' Shoulder's wildlife into Fogbeasts, making even docile species such as Ponios and Armus aggressive, including the livestock of Gran Dell. Gael'gar believes that the rift is proof that the world loathes the pure-blooded High Entia. Gran Dell eventually come under siege by Fogbeasts until Melia reunited the Companions and fend them off. With Fog King's defeat and the closing of the rift, Fogbeasts on Bionis cease to exist.

Future Redeemed[edit]

Fogbeasts are first seen alongside an Alpha-possessed Na'el, killing City refugees as they are running from Kevesi troops. In a flashback, Matthew, and Na'el dispatch a few Diastone Ferises at Erythia Sea, Matthew remarks that they give off the same energy as Moebius, but at the same time it seems to be something different. Fogbeasts are first encountered at The Ragmos Desolation, after the encounter with Alpha at Raguel Lake, Fogbeasts and Fog Rifts begin to show up around the Cent-Omnia Region, occasionally replacing the natural wildlife. With's Alpha's death, Fogbeasts cease to exist.

  • According to A in an Affinity Scene, Fogbeasts were "Signs of the strained world the black fog birthed... And now servants of Alpha. But originally, something that had no place existing".

In Future Redeemed[edit]

The enemy icon for Fogbeasts.

Fogbeasts return in Future Redeemed, now taking the shape of phantom versions of Aionios's wildlife, sometimes replacing said wildlife. There are also Fog Rifts in several sections of the Cent-Omnia Region. In battle, they spawn Fog-called Beasts. Destroying Fog Rifts yields Affinity Points. Fogbeasts first appear after reaching The Ragmos Desolation (although they can technically be fought before this, as a part of Hunt for the Kids). At later points in the story, Fogbeasts start appearing in more places across the Cent-Omnia Region.
