Dialogue[edit]

Chapter 2[edit]

Saets Lumber Co.[edit]

Dward
What d’you want? This is a woodcraft workshop. It’s not a place for kids.
Dward
Well, what we do here is we take wood from Gormotti trees and prepare it for a variety of uses.
For instance, we build frames of Puzzletree Wood strengthened with Muscle Branches for use in buildings.
It’s a pretty tricky process, so I wouldn’t advise it, but...I guess you can try your hand if you like?
Dward
Good call. It’s a bit of a dangerous job to try out of curiosity alone.

Saets Chief's Residence[edit]

Dward
So Gormott’s been under Ardainian rule for nearly 50 years now, huh...
Gormott used to have its own army, you know. My dad was an officer there. Not that you’d know it to look at him now.
Dward
After Gormott was defeated, the army was disbanded, and all we have now are small defense corps for each tribe.
It may seem we’re being oppressed, but if you look at it another way, we’re also under Mor Ardain’s protection.
The Ardainians don’t really interfere with our culture. That’s something to be grateful for, if you ask me.

Chapter 3[edit]

Dward
I heard that Titan battleship got attacked. And by a group of rebels trying to save that wanted girl Nia, too!
They must be a force to be reckoned with. Even Mòrag, Mor Ardain’s greatest Driver, couldn’t capture them.
If she can’t take them, there’s nothing us ordinary folk of Torigoth can do. Just gotta wait for this all to blow over.
I only hope it doesn’t get too out of control. Don’t want the city getting damaged.

Chapter 4[edit]

After the party defeats the bandits at the Brigands' Hideout
Dward
That Cordell Village, the one that got occupied by bandits... Yeah, I don’t think there’s any hope of it recovering.
Pretty much all the residents were killed, and the buildings were ruined as well. What can you do at that point?
It was only a small village, without even a military station, but still...people sure do some awful things, huh.
I can only pray for the people of Cordell to rest in peace.

Chapter 6[edit]

Dward
Mor Ardain and Uraya... When war finally breaks out between those two, I’m sure Gormott will get mixed up in it.
But we don’t have any fighting forces of our own. In the end, we’re just at the mercy of whichever side is victorious.
All we can do is pray that whichever country wins won’t harm our culture too much.
Though of course, the best outcome is if they never go to war to begin with.

Chapter 7[edit]

After Nia reveals that she is a Flesh Eater
Dward
About a decade ago, the leadership of a town ruled by one of Gormott’s seven main clans changed hands.
The old leader had two daughters, but one of them was really sickly.
He was spending a crazy amounts of money on medical care for her.
Including money from his people’s taxes.
It’s not like I can’t empathize. Any father would want to do whatever he could to save his precious daughter.
But when you’re leader of a whole clan, a whole town...you have responsibilities.
Dward
Not like Consul Dughall was any better, mind. I hope we get a half-decent consul next time...

Chapter 10[edit]

Dward
Right now, the people of Torigoth are doing everything they can to get new houses built for the refugees.
After all, they can hardly live in tents in the Ardainian army base forever.
Dward
It’s only natural that many of them are depressed or angry. How can they feel safe without a roof over their heads?
