Xenosaga Episode III

Doctus (ドクトゥス) is a supporting character in Xenosaga II to III: A Missing Year and Xenosaga Episode III - Also Sprach Zarathustra. She is a member of Scientia.

Appearance and personality[edit]

Doctus's android body is a woman with silver hair with eyes hidden behind a pair of blue-luminescent goggles. She wears a Scientia uniform made up of a cool-gray coat, dark leggings and cool-gray high-heeled boots.

Doctus is a calm and collected agent, rarely ever seen breaking her composure. As her relationship with other characters is purely occupational, her focus is mission-driven, only ever making extra time for witty remarks and the occasional Latin phrase.

Story arc[edit]

A Missing Year[edit]

Doctus plays a role as a field agent in Scientia's investigation of the Gnosis terrorism. When she obtains a lead on a young Realian girl whom she calls "Grimoire's little girl", she comes close to apprehending her, but is forced to retreat to avoid an altercation with Jin Uzuki. Later, when the S.O.C.E.'s lab is suddenly targeted in one of these organized Gnosis attacks, Doctus takes advantage of the chaos to kidnap the Realian girl, causing heavy damage to the attending Android KOS-MOS in the process.

Later, Jin and his sister Shion track Doctus back to the Nothung, the Scientia ship that she's stationed on. There, Doctus and the ship's Captain explain Vector Industries' involvement with the Gnosis terrorism and their connection to Lemegeton and Grimoire. This explanation is enough to convince Jin and Shion to hear out Scientia's methods, standing by when the Realian girl is later examined. When the examination goes wrong, Shion is knocked unconscious, leading Jin to request Doctus' help in setting up an Encephalon dive into Ars Nova to save Shion's consciousness in exchange for a Lemegeton fragment. Doctus later dives into Ars Nova herself to help in holding off the macrophages for Shion and Jin.
