Deus is a boss in Xenogears. It is fought in the Deus dungeon.

Description[edit]

Deus is fought as the final boss within the Deus dungeon. Its HP and abilities will depend on whether the player has defeated any of the Four Pillars, Harlute, Marlute, Metatron, and Sundel. Its HP starts at 70,000, but will lower to 52,000 if 1 - 3 Pillars have been defeated and 40,000 if all 4 Four Pillars have been defeated. If the player has failed to defeat the Four Pillars then it will have additional abilities Heavenly Anointment, Earthly Anointment, Fuel Drain and Healing. These abilities will be cut off if the respective sub-bosses have been defeated. Deus can also can inflict confusion to one Gear. In addition, it has two angel-like beings on its arms that will break off and attack the party on their own; if all four pillars are defeated, then the angels will break off immediately. Ultimate Break is Deus's most powerful attack which depicts a one minute animation of it creating a supernova that deals extremely heavy damage to everyone.
