Dark Daybreak (called Dark Dawn on the Revival disc and Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -, sometimes unofficially referred to as Light from the Netherworld) is Disc 1, Track 1 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack, Track 1 on the Xenogears Original Soundtrack Revival Disc -the first and the last-, and Track 1 of the A-Side of the first disc of Xenogears Vinyl - SHINKAKU -.
The melody at the start is used as a motif in Premonition, Awakening, and (from the Xenosaga Original Soundtrack) Opening. The melody at the end is based on a motif from Faraway Promise.
It plays as the music in the opening cutscene, when the Eldridge is attacked and destroyed by Deus.

The album's opener is, naturally, "Dark Daybreak." The collaboration of 77 orchestra members and Bulgarian choir voices truly brought the expansive world of Xenogears to vivid life. The composition and atmosphere of the song have become inseparable from the opening movie; envisioning a live orchestra recording, I'm convinced it would have sounded just like this. As you progress through the game, take a moment to reminisce about the music. I'm confident it will enhance your enjoyment of the game even further.
