Dan is a character from Xenogears. He is a young boy from Lahan Village who was friends with Fei until his sister Alice's death and the destruction of the village. He is an opponent in the Aveh tournament.

Appearance and personality

Dan is a short boy with orange hair and brown eyes.

Dan is initially friendly with Fei and they appear to be good friends despite their significant age gap. This changes after Alice's death. Dan becomes very angry towards Fei and tries to personally take revenge by killing his former friend.

Story arc

Dan grew up in Lahan Village along with his older sister Alice. Their parents died when he was little and he lives with his aunt and uncle. Fei and Dan became friends after Fei's arrival in the town and Dan liked Fei so much that he had hoped he would marry his sister instead of Timothy. Dan reacts very badly to the destruction of Lahan Village and the death of his older sister, blaming Fei for her death.

While the survivors from Lahan village are able to take refuge in Shevat, Dan instead stays on the surface and heads to Bledavik, the capital of Aveh where he participates in the Battling Tournament. Fei runs into him in a tent prior to the tournament and eventually faces Dan in battle where Dan proclaims that he will kill Fei. As part of the battle, the player has the option to either attack Dan and defeat him, or refrain from attacking which will cause Dan to throw Alice's wedding dress at Fei and quit the fight.

Following the Battling Tournament, Dan catches up with the survivors of Lahan, eventually making his way to Shevat. After Fei is frozen in carbonite, Dan learns the truth about Fei, that he has Id inside of him and that Id was responsible for Lahan's destruction. He tells Fei that he forgives him for what happen after his recovery.
