Containers are elements of the overworld in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed. They are upright cylindrical objects which can be opened by walking up to them and pressing A. Upon being opened, they drop Gold and items.

Upon approaching a container, a non-player-controlled party member may announce its existence and run towards it.

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, containers may also grant SP when opened. In Future Redeemed, opening containers is part of the Exploration Affinity Goal: opening all containers in a region grants Affinity Points. The Treasure Sensor upgrade for the X-Reader enables a ping when an unopened container is nearby.
