Consul U is an antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is a member of the Consuls and is in charge of Colony Tau.

Appearance and personality

As with all Consuls, U wears the red armor and black cape. U wears a leaf-shaped helmet. In her Moebius form, U takes the form of slender demonic humanoid with a head crest similar to her Consul form and insect wing-like decorations on her back.

Initially, U seems to care about Colony Tau and its people. However it is just a façade, she is actually very sadistic, enjoying the suffering of Juniper and their colleagues as they are struggle to survive. She is also very manipulative, tricking the party into luring monsters to the Colony to force its soldiers to fight, regardless if its Flame Clock was destroyed or not. Even in her dying breath she is willing to taunt Juniper to give in to their hatred.

Story Arc

U is the main antagonist of Survivors. When the party reaches Colony Tau, they find dead Volffs. She then reveals herself to the party and Juniper, admitting that she killed them to protect the Colony. She forces Juniper to come along with her before blackmailing the party to bring Twineturf for herself.

When the party returns to U, she plans to throw it into a bonfire to lure the monsters. Taion becomes suspicious of the bonfire's purpose. She then complains about the bugs to Cardamine who then orders him to burn the bonfire before another wave of monsters attacks the Colony. U and Juniper then observes the party, they as fight off a wave of Annon Rhinon which Juniper notes that they're not native to Maktha Wildwood.

As the party struggles with the monsters U admits that she wants Tau to fight to the best of their abilities, just to see them suffer much to Juniper's horror, prompting them to join the fray to assist the party, with Rowland getting wounded by the monsters in the process. During the chaos, U let it slip that she sent the monsters to attack Colony Tau, prompting Taion to order the soldiers to extinguish the bonfire, admitting that she lied about getting rid of the monsters with the bonfire. She also admits that she's responsible for sending the monsters on the day Colony Tau's Flame Clock was destroyed, enraging the party.

After routing the monsters, the party confronts U revealing that she's responsible for the state of Colony Tau, enraging Juniper completely. She then transforms into her Moebius form to battle Juniper and the party but is defeated. After her defeat, she threatens to take the rest of Colony Tau with her. Juniper, had enough of the Consul's madness finished her off with their Luminescent Bow.

Lore

• U seems to like to tease her opponents, calling Juniper "Junebug" and the party "Ouroberries".
• U rarely visits Colony Tau and mostly leaves them to their own devices.
