Consul E is an antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is a member of the Consuls and is in charge of Colony Iota.

Appearance and personality

As with most of the Consuls, E wears the standard red armor and black cape. His helmet is dome-shaped with a pointed protrusion on the back. He has reddish-brown eyes and an average build. In his Moebius form, E appears as a tall purple humanoid creature with plates on his head that resemble the shape of his helmet, a spike on the back of his head, bared teeth, a set of long spikes extending from his chest, and smaller spikes adorning his arms and legs. Unmasked, he appears as a young-looking man with short brown hair.

While many of the Consuls see the war as a game, E imagines it as a story or stage play of which he is the writer. In battle, he frequently references parts of the writing process, such as "editing out his enemies' existence" and "penning the next chapter." His demeanor is bombastic and over the top, making his love of theatrics expressly clear. E has a superiority complex and dismisses those who oppose him as “philistines” or "peons." The fact that he refers to others as “characters” suggests that he may have lost touch with reality, and it is entirely possible that he genuinely believes that the war is nothing more than a performance piece of epic proportions.

Despite his ego and strict appearance E was noted to have been lenient, allowing Alexandria to do things like create the Collectopaedia Cards.

Story Arc

Main story

E is first seen early in the game during a soldier's Homecoming when Noah and his friends were in their early terms.

E makes a short appearance at the start of Chapter 2 in the Amphitheater, debating with the other Consuls on who's turn it is to challenge the party.

E is later seen with an unnamed Kevesi Commander, in a battle with Colony Delta. When Cammuravi's Ferronis took the field, he fled, leaving the Commander to die by Cammuravi's hands.

Her Reasons

E is the main antagonist of Her Reasons. Here, E appears as the Consul of Colony Iota. E explains that he had been molding Alexandria in his image, treating the ordeal as a drama he had set up. Ironically, Alexandria had been luring the party as part of her own plan to defeat Consul E and free her Colony. He then transforms into his Moebius form but is defeated. In his last moments, E claims he can hear the audience's rupture as he dissipates into blue motes.

Lore

• Alexandria gained her knowledge on poison from E, which she described as one of his shady hobbies.
