Consul B is an antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is a member of the Consuls and is in charge of Colony 9.
Appearance and personality[edit]
As with most of the Consuls, B wears the standard red armor and black cape. B wears a helmet with an oni-like face, complete with yellow "ears" and three horns extending from its forehead. He has brownish-red eyes. In his Moebius form, B takes the form of a large, muscular, bipedal monster with mostly red skin, gray and purple horns in the same arrangement as the ones on his helmet, a gray mandible, a ring around his waist, two diamond-like adornments on his back, and an infinity symbol positioned on his solar plexus.
B is brash and bad-tempered, and has a tendency to call people "maggots" or compare them to insects. He has zero tolerance for treason and is willing to execute anyone for going against his commands. Overall, not much is known about B's personality.
Story Arc[edit]
Consul B is first seen in the prologue, during the fight between Colony 9 and Colony Sigma, where he is supervising the battle from the top of the Colony 9 Ferronis. The next day, as the emergency assembly is summoned, gossip can be heard around the Colony about Consul B coming to discuss with the commander earlier. He brings a royal decree from the Castle, ordering the interception of a mystery unit in Alfeto Valley. After Noah, Eunie and Lanz come into contact with the Ouroboros Stone at Alfeto Valley, Consul B labels them as traitors and drops the Colony's rank to Tin. He discards the current commander and appoints Zeon as the new Colony 9 commander.
Consul B is next seen after Consul K's death, meeting with the other Moebius. He defends K's plan, arguing that it was sound and that he was defeated out of bad luck, due to the unanticipated interference of the black fog.
He appears again during Zeon's hero quest Where The Heart Is, where he watches from the sidelines as Zeon and the party team up to intercept an Agnian assault on Colony 9. He confronts them at their return to Colony 9, mocking the deserters and the soldiers who died for nothing. He then attacks the party, but Zeon, angered by his words, intercepts the blow and confronts Consul B. They fight, allowing Noah to destroy Colony 9's Flame Clock in the meantime. Consul B then transforms into Moebius B to fight the party. He is defeated, and he dies pointing out the rebels's efforts are futile, for they have no future, and only suffering and despair await them.
