Community (FR)

The Community screen

The Community is a gameplay mechanic in Future Redeemed. Community represents the NPCs the party have helped or otherwise worked with, mainly through completing quests.

Mechanics

A member of the Community is able to deepen their affinity

Potential Community members are added to the Community by interacting with them (usually by speaking to them). Each Community member has several "Community Tasks" which must be completed. These often entail completing quests, although they may also require progressing the main story, adding specific other members to the Community, or performing specific other actions such as finding City survivors. Once a character's other requirements have been met, they often must be talked to again (sometimes multiple times) to "deepen their affinity". These requirements can be seen in the Community menu, accessible from the main menu, or by pressing up on the D-pad when facing an NPC.

The Community menu also lists each character's nickname, age, lineage, and the time range during which they can be found in the overworld. It further gives the option to "track" a character by pressing the Y button; this displays a marker of their location/direction on the map (both on the menu and in the HUD). The Community menu shows characters who have been added to the Community (shown with a grey ring and a darker portrait) and those who have also had their affinity deepened (shown with a golden ring and a lit-up portrait).

No members are missable. Each member added to the Community constitutes an Affinity Goal, granting the party a number of Affinity Points (usually 4 or 6). Deepening a Community member's affinity grants more AP, usually 20 or 25. The main story does not have any particular Community requirements.
