Cammuravi (カムナビ) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is the military chief of Colony Delta in the army of Agnus and sworn rival of Ethel. His reputation for a fiery intensity on the battlefield (and presumably his appearance) lead some to call him Smoldering Cammuravi.
Appearance and personality[edit]
Cammuravi is a man with brown hair that glows orange-white at the tips, kept in a short spiky wolftail. He has orange eyes with dark creases surrounding them. He wears full-body metallic armour of a light grey colour with orange motifs. His left arm burns with an orange-yellow flame, and he wields a similarly-burning lance known as the Heatshimmer Spear. His term mark is located on the right side of his neck.
Cammuravi is a strong follower of the Warrior's Way, as he gladly completes his assignments no matter what they may be. Although he sometimes overrides this responsibility because of his dream of fighting to death with Ethel. Later in game, he's shown to be very close to the reborn Ethel and ensures her well-being. Sometimes Cammuravi is shown to be in a calm demeanor and frequently meditates to pass the time or remain calm.
Story arc[edit]
Main Story[edit]
Ethel bested him in a Ferronis duel but refused to kill him, as his Ferronis' joints had failed due to a lack of maintenance and she wished to have a fair fight with him. While Cammuravi managed to survive the battle, he was imprisoned in the Ivory Gaol as punishment for failing to defeat Ethel.
Cammuravi is seen in a flashback leading Colony Delta's forces against an unnamed Kevesi Colony. At first, it seemed that Colony Delta was losing until Cammuravi deployed his Ferronis, claiming victory over the Kevesi Colony.
Cammuravi is later freed by N and forced to work with Ethel to kill the party using a Ferronis made by the Consuls. The two of them then head to Maktha Wildwood under the orders of Consuls O and P and attack the party. When O and P notice that Cammuravi and Ethel are holding back, they try to control Cammuravi via his Iris, just as K did with Ethel. However, Cammuravi gouged out his own eye to stop them from controlling him and declares that he would not be the Consuls' slave. Cammuravi and Ethel then cease attacking the party to duel each other. The Consuls begin draining their life force as punishment for defying them, but they ultimately choose to die on their own terms.
Side Story: Mio[edit]
At Colony Omega, Cammuravi is later reborn and artificially aged to his tenth term as part of Y's experiments. He is forced to fight the party alongside Miyabi, Hackt and Mwamba. Through Noah and Mio's off-seeing melody in conjunction with the Sword of the End, he was freed along with the others, prompting Y to attack the party himself. Y is defeated and retreats.
A Twist of Fate[edit]
During A Twist of Fate, Cammuravi is seen attacking some Lost Numbers, the party manages to persuade him to stand down and requests him to come to the City, under the condition that the other freed soldiers to come along as well. When Cammuravi and the party arrive at the City, they learn from Travis that a reborn Ethel has escaped from her cradle. The party finds Cubibi, a Nopon who mistakenly opened her cradle while playing hide and go seek. Cammuravi helps the party track down Ethel and feeling a sense of obligation, decides to look after her. Despite having no knowledge of his past life, he instinctively recognizes Ethel when they meet again. Under the suggestion of Travis, he decides to take the young Ethel under his wing.
Other appearances[edit]
The party later returns to Colony Omega with Ethel, who then decides to use the cradle to return her to her tenth term. After Ethel matures back to her tenth term, Cammuravi mutters Ethel's old nickname "Silvercoat" upon seeing the fully matured Ethel, despite neither of them knowing what it means, and Cammuravi also does not understand why he has a sensational feeling.
Cammuravi can be among the recruited Heroes to aid the party in the final battle against Z, warning that if he is forgotten, they'll pay the price as he is summoned. After Z's defeat, Cammuravi can be seen on the Agnian side as Aionios splits back into the two worlds it was created from.

After the Quest A Twist of Fate is completed, Cammuravi can be found as an NPC at the City when not engaged as the party's Hero. He can be found at the Training Ground with Ethel in the day.

- Cammuravi's Ferronis resembles Bart's Gear, Brigandier in Xenogears.
- Cammuravi has no Ascension Quest and shares an ascension condition with Ethel, making them the only Heroes to share an ascension condition.
- Cammuravi may be a reference to Hammurabi, the sixth king of the First Babylonian dynasty of the Amorite tribe, and well known for the Code of Hammurabi.
