Brighid (カグツチ) is a playable character in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna ~ The Golden Country. She is considered one of the two Ardainian imperial treasures, together with Aegaeon. She is Hugo's and later Mòrag's Blade.
Appearance and personality[edit]
Brighid is a woman with violet long hair with the bottom and buns alit by blue flames, violet eyes (which are often closed and only opens during tense situations), a blue pattern on her forehead, her arms and legs are covered in blue crystals. Brighid wears a violet revealing flowing dress, exposing her inner breasts.
Brighid is elegant, honest, and assertive. She freely speaks her mind even if it is hard for the other person to hear what she says. She is prone to anger, particularly when someone exhibits behavior she disapproves of (being boorish in Mythra’s case or inattentive in Rex’s). Despite this, she maintains a refined, lady-like demeanor, and seems to want what is best for other people.
As Hugo’s Blade, she tends to be more insulting, particularly to Mythra. For example, she harshly criticizes Mythra, unprovoked, during post-battle dialogue. She appears more reserved as Morag’s blade, though she still has outbursts of anger such as when she slaps and tells Rex off in frustration.
Story arc[edit]
Lore[edit]
- Brighid keeps a journal that contains the memories of her past lives, making her one of the few Blades to have some sort of knowledge of their past selves.

As an NPC[edit]
Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]
Brighid can first be found on the Indoline Titan Ship at the very beginning of Chapter 5. She can later be found in Fonsett Residential Area, during the party's stay in Fonsett Village.
Brighid can be found at a random location in Garfont Village, provided she is not equipped to her Driver or sent on a Merc Mission. The specific locations she may be found at are listed here.
Dialogue[edit]
Indoline Titan Ship[edit]
I was surprised to see how much you had all grown since our encounter in Torigoth.
You fought splendidly as allies, as well... Perhaps you are beginning to truly make the Aegis's power your own.
Fonsett Village[edit]
Oh, don't mind me. Just talking to myself.
Garfont Village[edit]
How much longer must I stay here and do nothing?
Torna ~ The Golden Country[edit]
Brighid can be found inside the Strategy Room in Gormott, after the party learns that Addam's militia arrived in Aletta.
Dialogue[edit]
I'm not referring to anyone in particular, you understand.
But it's a story you hear all too often. I'd advise you to tread very carefully.
As an enemy[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
Brighid appears on the Cloud Sea of Alrest stage in the background alongside her Driver, Mòrag. Much like Mythra, Brighid's outfit has been modified from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 due to Ultimate's lower age rating, covering up her midriff and legs.
Trivia[edit]
- Brighid's outfit (albeit with a skirt and a jacket in place of the flowing tailcoat) can be unlocked for Sena in the Land of Challenge's Archsage's Gauntlet battles.
- In English, Brighid is voiced by Jules de Jongh, who also voices Finch and Boreas.
