A Barney Stone

Barney Stones are points of interest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country that can be found in the Kingdom of Torna. Four Barney Stones can be found around Torna, the first of which is found during Barmy Tale of Barney, which acts as a tutorial for Barney Stones. Other Barney Stones cannot be interacted with until this quest is completed.

Mechanic

Upon finding and interacting with a Barney Stone, three waves of enemies will spawn along with a barrier that makes leaving the battle impossible until every enemy is defeated or the player is. Upon defeating an enemy, a light will come from their body and enter the Barney Stone, which will shatter once all three waves of enemies were defeated. Once the Barney Stone has shattered, a chest will appear, containing some accessories, gold and a blueprint for Addam's Replica-artifact-making crafting skill.

Barney Stones can be activated again during New Game Plus, yielding the same rewards as before without the blueprint, if its key item was crafted beforehand.

Mernes Falls Barney Stone

This Barney Stone can be found in a cave behind Mernes Falls in the Lasaria Region. This Barney Stone's seal must be broken during Barmy Tale of Barney, yielding the Secret Flag Blueprint among other rewards.

Three waves of enemies will appear after interacting with the Barney Stone:

Yanchik Harbor Barney Stone

• This Barney Stone can be found in a cave near Yanchik Harbor in the Lasaria Region, sealed by vines which can be cut using a Swift Swordplay and Focus level 3 Field Skill check. The Secret Pot Blueprint will be found among its rewards.

Millennium Grotto Barney Stone

• This Barney Stone can be found in Millennium Grotto in the Aletta Region. The Secret Bell Blueprint will be found among its rewards.

• Wave 2:
  • 3 Sorolle Armu
  • 2 Urbs Armu
• Wave 3:

Titan's Ulcer Barney Stone

• This Barney Stone can be found in Titan's Ulcer in the Dannagh Region, requiring the noxious bog to be cleansed with a Manipulate Ether and Command Water level 3 Field Skill check to be accessed. The Secret Wing Blueprint will be found among its rewards.

Trivia

The Titan Antibody Cores are similar to Barney Stones, both in looks and in mechanics.
