The Kingdom of Aveh is a country in Xenogears. It has been in conflict with the neighboring country of Kislev for hundreds of years. Visually, Aveh has a Middle East aesthetic.

Geography

Aveh is one of several countries on the continent of Ignas. It is a large country, composed primarily of desert, and takes up the majority of the continent. It is bordered by Nisan in the northwest, Kislev in the northeast and Lahan Village in the east.

Aveh's capital city is Bledavik. Other key locations in Aveh include Dazil, Bart's Lair, the Mountain Cave, Stalactite Cave and Aveh - Kislev Border.

Story

History

The country of Aveh was founded by Roni Fatima in the year 9510, following the end of the war between Solaris and the surface dwellers. Aveh was originally founded by Roni as a country that would hopefully be able to stand up against Solaris in the future. As part of this he hid his Omnigear, Andvari, in a vessel located below the neighboring country of Nisan, enabling it so it could only be unsealed through the Fatima Jasper, the retina pattern of the Fatima family. The Fatima family would remain as the dynasty ruling Aveh until the year 9987, when Shakhan, a Minister working under the present king, Edbart IV, staged a coup d'état. Edbart and his wife Mariel were killed and their son Bart and niece Margie were held captive. Both would be rescued that same year by Sigurd, Bart's elder half-brother and Maison, a former subordinate of the king.

War between the countries of Aveh and Kislev broke out in the year 9715 and continues through the start of the game. Despite having a larger land mass than Kislev, Aveh fell behind its enemy in the war effort due to Kislev having superior Gears being found through its archeological efforts. In the year 9985, Edbart proposed peace between the two nations, but such talks came to an end due to his assassination. In order to ensure both sides were on even footing, the military force of Gebler, from Solaris provided Aveh military support. As such Aveh was able to get back on even footing and even start to take a superior position to that of Kislev.

Xenogears

In the present day, Aveh continues its war with Kislev. Shakhan remains as ruler of the nation, although is heavily supported by Gebler. He seeks to obtain the Fatima Jasper and acquire Andvari to help retain his position.

Bart, along with Sigurd and Maison leads the Sand Pirates, an independent group of rebels that operate the sand cruiser Yggdrasil. They prey on Aveh's military forces where they can and also try to excavate their own Gears to use in their effort against Shakhan. Bart's goal is to defeat Shakhan and fulfill his father's last wish to turn Aveh from a monarchy into a republic.

• Agnus, a nation in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 may be a reference to Aveh, due to similar spelling.
