Art Combo (XC3)
- For other articles titled "Art Combo", see Art Combo (disambiguation).
In Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Future Redeemed, an art combo can be used to inflict the effects of Break, Topple, Launch, Smash, Daze, and Burst. Art combos are the successor to Driver Combos in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Break-Topple-Daze system in Xenoblade Chronicles.
Certain Arts, including Talent Arts, inflict one or more Art Combo stages when they connect. Enemy attacks may also inflict such stages upon the player. Some Arts available when in Ouroboros form inflict a certain stage of the Combo to every enemy if the Interlink was at level 3 when Ouroboros was activated.
If the two Arts composing a Fusion Art each inflict a stage of the Art Combo, then both effects will be applied in succession if the Class Art's stage follows on from the current stage of the combo and the Master Art's stage follows on from the Class Art's (e.g. if the enemy is suffering from Break, the Class Art inflicts Topple, and the Master Art inflicts Launch). Resistances apply as normal with Fusion Arts.
Stages[edit]
For a list of sources, see each stage's page.
Break[edit]
- Main article: Break (XC3)
Break interrupts enemy's attacks when used, and is the starting point for both art combos. While other arts are usually guaranteed to follow on from break, break may be resisted by the enemy. Break can be followed up by Topple.
Topple[edit]
- Main article: Topple (XC3)
Topple follows on from break, and is the second effect for both art combos. While Topple is inflicted, enemies cannot attack. Topple can be followed on by either Daze or Launch.
Daze[edit]
- Main article: Daze (XC3)
Daze follows on from Topple, and is the third effect in the first art combo. While Daze is inflicted, enemies cannot attack, cannot dodge attacks, and attacks will not draw Aggro.
Burst[edit]
- Main article: Burst
Burst follows on from Daze, and is the finisher for the first art combo. In Future Redeemed, Burst follows on from Launch instead, as Daze does not exist. Burst ends the art combo, makes the enemy drop items, and removes the enraged status.
Launch[edit]
- Main article: Launch (XC3)
Launch follows on from Topple, and is the third effect in the second art combo. While Launch is inflicted, enemies cannot attack and take increased damage.
Smash[edit]
- Main article: Smash (XC3)
Smash follows on from Launch, and is the finisher for the second art combo. Smash does a lot of damage and ends the art combo. Smashing an enemy increases the HP threshold at which they enter enraged status.
Blowdown (FR only)[edit]
- Main article: Blowdown (XC3)
In Future Redeemed, Blowdown follows on from Launch, and is one of the finishers from Launch. The only special effect is knocking the enemy far away. However, the Unity Combos that inflict it have higher base damage ratios to compensate.
