Alice (アルル, Aruru) is a tertiary character from Xenogears. She is a friend of Fei during his time in Lahan Village.

Appearance and personality

Alice is approximately 18 years old and female. She has a slim, feminine build with fair skin. She has long, black hair and deep blue eyes. She wears a white and green dress, with a black apron adorned atop it.

In the little time Alice is on-screen, it is shown that she longs for something more in life. It is heavily implied that she wishes she could marry Fei, instead of Timothy. Regardless of her wants, she shows loyalty to Timothy and her family. She is shown to be very sentimental, due to how important her wedding dress is to her.

Story arc

Alice grew up in Lahan Village with her younger brother, Dan. During her childhood her parents passed away, as such she lives with her aunt and uncle. Alice has been good friends with Fei since his arrival in Lahan 3 years prior. While Alice has romantic feelings for Fei, the fact that he was not born in Lahan Village causes her to instead pursue a romantic relationship with Fei's friend, Timothy, to whom she is engaged to at the start of the game's story.

Fei visits Alice shortly before her wedding and is asked by her to pick up some camera equipment from Doctor Citan, as she doesn't trust Dan with it. During Fei's absence, Lahan Village is attacked by a group of Gears from Kislev. In the invasion, Timothy is gunned down trying to save Dan (who wanted to recover Alice's wedding dress). This causes Weltall to spiral out of control and kill several people in the village, including Alice.

Even after her death, Alice is still mentioned throughout the game, primarily by her little brother, Dan. Dan blames Fei for her death and actively works against him for a good portion of the plot. The ultimate culmination of this is Dan dueling Fei in the battle tournament held in Aveh's Capital.

• In Japanese, Alice is voiced by Michiko Neya, who also voices Emeralda, Karen Wong, and Tyrea in Xenoblade Chronicles and Future Connected.
