Aeviters are large six-legged, mech-like enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles X under the Insectoid classification.

Many of these enemies are only found dormant, and rise when BLADEs get near them, although some high-level Macabre Aeviters in the Sandsprint Cavity walk normally.

Description[edit]

Enduring insects that survive by absorbing ether from the atmosphere. Due to their intensely long lifespan, they mate only once every dozen years or so, and will often stop moving altogether in order to conserve energy.

Before reaching maturation, aeviters live underground, feeding on the sap from tree roots and other organic matter they encounter. Though generally docile, they are also quite territorial, and will attack anything that encroaches on their ether-harvesting grounds.

In combat[edit]

Aeviters can often get early advantages, thanks to their dormant state allowing them to start the battle with the party Flinched. These enemies have a Roar that allows them to inflict Ether Res Down, and mainly use powerful ranged Ether attacks to follow up afterwards. They also have a powerful physical Flying Stomp.

Aeviters resist Physical attacks (taking 35% less damage) but take 25% more damage from Ether and Thermal attacks.

Variations[edit]

Aeviters come in two variations depending on their color.

  • Purple Aeviters are mainly purple with blue visor-like areas on their heads. They drop Aeviter Star Wings from the wings on their head. These are found through Sylvalum.
  • Yellow Aeviters are mainly yellow with red visor-like areas on their heads. They drop Aeviter Death Stones from the wings on their head. These are found in the Divine Roost in Noctilum.

In general, all Aeviters drop these items:
