A Mercenary's Honor is a quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is a DLC quest introduced in version 1.4.1 as part of the DLC Quest List - Distribution 3 DLC. It can be received from Matteo at the Royal Guard Barracks in Fonsa Myma, Kingdom of Uraya, after starting Chapter 10 and completing Beneath the Aurora. Once the quest is completed, Merc Missions with better rewards, starting with Urayan Crash Course, will be available in the Merc Group.
Quest objectives[edit]
- Search for signs of the mercenaries by the Aegishammer in Temperantia.
- Following the trail requires clearing a Keen Eye level 6 and Focus level 8 Field Skill check.
- Follow the footprints you discovered by the Aegishammer in Temperantia.
- Following the trail requires clearing a Keen Eye and Fortitude level 7 Field Skill check.
- Follow the footprints you discovered by the Malignant Gorge in Temperantia.
- Defeat the mercs (3) you've tracked to near The Great Archway in Temperantia.
- The mercs are two Woden Driver and Dilemma Scout.
- Defeat the Blood-Crazed Stalker on the Desta Plains in Temperantia.
- Blood-Crazed Stalker is accompanied by a Sakryfyce Igna and a Vyktym Igna.
- Speak with Geoffili at the Malignant Gorge in Temperantia.
- Report back to Matteo at the Royal Guard Barracks in Uraya.

We hired some mercs ourselves recently, but they haven't made it back from the field yet...
There was a bit of trouble with Mor Ardain out in Temperantia, right?
Well, we sent four really tough guys on a surveillance mission. Just keeping an eye on the Ardainian army and that.
But then the war never came, and we found ourselves with a nice, easy armistice.
The order to withdraw was sent out, but they're still not back... Maybe it never reached them, I don't know.
If we send our troops to find them, the Ardainians might well get the wrong idea. The fighting might start up again.
So we're stuck. We can't send anyone out on a search mission, so we're left hoping they'll just turn up...
Which is where you lot come in.
We'd like to ask you to man a search mission. Find Bonard and his men and bring them back. What do you say?
